FaZe have announced that they have withdrawn from the Game Show Global eSports Cup with immediate effect.
The former G2 side had defeated ALTERNATE aTTaX 2-0 in their first match in the group stage and were due to meet Ninjas in Pyjamas next, in the winners' match.
No reason was given for FaZe's withdrawal in a statement from GameShow, but it is believed that Håvard "rain" Nygaard's side, who had recently quit Acer Predator Masters 2, have decided to focus on the ESL Pro League and the MLG Columbus major.
The European team were in attendance at DreamHack Open Leipzig this week, finishing 5th-6th following defeats against Natus Vincere and Luminosity Gaming.

With FaZe's withdrawal, NiP and ALTERNATE aTTaX are both through to the playoffs of the European division of the Global eSports Cup, featuring a $200,000 prize pool and offline finals in Vilnius, Lithuania, from February 4-7.
The top four teams from the European division will secure spots at the season finals, where they will join North American representatives Cloud9 and CLG, and CIS duo Method and FlipSid3 Tactics.
