HLTV.org has learned that Excello has decided to discontinue their participation in the Intel Challenge Super Cup 8.
They are the second team in the space of one day who have withdrawn their participation from the tournament, as mTw decided to bow out yesterday.
The Finnish team, formerly known as munkka, were late last month acquired by Portuguese-based Excello, who have made a name for themselves for housing Finnish squads in the past.
Excello were supposed to play SK Gaming, Virtus.pro and ESC Gaming tonight, but as they have now departed the tournament, the three sides will receive technical wins of 16-0.
In addition, ESC Gaming's 16-3 win on de_inferno, dating back to June 15, will be declared void by the tournament organizers.
The team recently signed Tuomas "Type" Kauppinen, and the reason to why they have decided to drop out of the tournament is supposedly because of the lack of practice.
Contacted by HLTV.org, Intel Challenge Super Cup 8 officials proclaimed that Excello's slot will not be made available for any other teams.
